1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) would file a robust response to the Request for Arbitration (RFA) that they have been served with by the International Petroleum Investment Co (IPIC) and Aabar Investments PJS.

1MDB said the response would be filed on or before the July 11 deadline, as stipulated by the London Court of International Arbitration.

"1MDB is confident in its legal position. Accordingly, 1MDB has appointed Weil Gotshal & Manges to represent it in the dispute," the state investment fund said in a statement.

Weil Gotshal is a globally renowned law firm specialising in international litigation, among others.

1MDB said today it was served with a RFA dated June 13, 2016 by IPIC and Aabar Investments in relation to its ongoing dispute with IPIC.
