The following are the highlights of the speech by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in conjunction with the launch of the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) Annual Reports 2015 under the National Transformation Programme (DTN), today.

* GTP from the aspect of the National Key Result Areas had achieved 99 percent of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

* ETP through the National Key Economic Areas achieved 111 per cent KPI, and through the Strategic Reform Initiative attained 108 percent KPI.

* GTP has surpassed the horizon or phase 1 and 2 and is now heading towards the next phase through the 11th Malaysia Plan to lift Malaysia to a developed country status.

* Even though in the face of global economic challenges in recent years, Malaysia continues to record average gross domestic product growth of 5.6 percent since 2010.

* Malaysia is among the countries that record the best growth rate in ASEAN last year.

* Gross national income per capita had increased by 30 percent last year to over RM36,000 compared with around RM28,000 in 2010.

* Malaysia recorded trade surplus for the 220th consecutive month since November 1997.

* In February 2016, Malaysia recorded trade surplus of RM7.5 billion.

* Ringgit had achieved its highest level at 3.865 compared with the US dollar on April 13, 2016, an 11 percent increase since end-2015.

* Bursa Malaysia shares had been sold to foreign investors worth RM6.4 billion as at April 22, 2016.

* The government had successfully issued Global Sukuk worth US$1.5 billion on April 20, 2016, or oversubscribed by 4.2 times.
