Young singer Aiman Tino is all excited to share the stage with six popular singers of the 1960s via 'Konsert Gegar Pop Yeh Yeh' at Panggung Sari, Istana Budaya from March 3 to 5.

The artiste who is popular with the song, 'Ku Rela Di Benci' would sing yeah yeah pop beats together with Datuk A. Rahman Hassan, Datuk L. Ramli, Datuk Jeffrydin, J. Sham, Maria Bachok and A. Rozaini.

"I immediately accepted when offered to join the concert as it will give me a different experience. This is a valuable opportunity for me to learn and glean knowledge from great artistes..I will do my best.

"Fans can come (in droves) to the 'Konsert Gegar Pop Yeh Yeh' if they want to see me sing songs from the 1960s," he told reporters at a media conference to announce the concert at Istana Budaya here Tuesday.

Among the songs which would be performed at the two-hour concert would be 'Ayahku Kahwin Lagi', 'Hanya Untukku', 'Siapa Gerangan', 'Kenangan Mengusik Jiwa' and 'Siti Haida'.

Tickets for the concert would be sold via www.ticketcharge.com and TicketCharge counters from RM50 to RM180 each.

Meanwhile, Istana Budaya director-general Datuk Mohamed Juhari Shaarani said the concert, in cooperation with CTRA Production, was the first one to combine young and old artistes.

He said the fifth series of the concert would not only bring back pop yeh yeh beats from the past but also capable of luring the interest of youngsters to appreciate and enjoy the 1960s nostalgic beat.

"The concert will be the only programme organised by Istana Budaya before the six-month closure of Panggung Sari, namely, from mid-April to early November for stage upgrading works and internal designs," he said.

Mohamed Juhari said the modification works would be implemented to assure comfort of audiences who turn up to watch performances at the prestigious theatre. - Bernama
