TV/film actress and producer, Samantha Schubert died at the Prince Court Medical Centre at 7.16pm today after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 47.

The news was confirmed by Schubert’s close acquaintance, actress and producer of Catwoman Productions via short messaging system, WhatsApp to Astro AWANI today.

“I’m in the midst of doing her funeral arrangement,” she said.

Schubert was named Miss Malaysia/World 1991 and became a household name after she acted in several films including ‘Red Scorpion 2’ (1994), ‘Amok’ (1997) and ‘The Red Kebaya’ (2006).

A successful model in Malaysia in the early 1990s, her career encompassed numerous print campaigns and over 30 television commercials. Her most recognisable work was in the Nescafe Classic TV commercial in 1995.

An illustrious actress, Schubert studied at the Lee Strasburg School of Film & Theatre Los Angeles, The Beverly Hills Playhouse Los Angeles and Drama Studio London.
