After Peter Jackson revealed at Comic-Con that there are still a few unreleased scenes from the set of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, Quentin Tarantino announced that the two volumes of "Kill Bill" will likely be re-released in theaters as a single feature.

Initially made as one movie, "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" was presented at Cannes in 2003 before returning to the editing room, where it was eventually split into two parts. When asked at a panel in San Diego about the possibility of a release in the film's original format, Tarantino said he is in talks with the Weinstein Company for a limited release as early as 2015.

In addition to placing the two volumes side by side, this potential new version would include scenes that were cut before the film's theatrical release. A number of these deleted scenes have already been released through "Kill Bill" DVD and Blu-ray editions.

Earlier at the same event, Peter Jackson made a similar revelation, admitting that he still had a few unused scenes from "The Lord of the Rings."

Already relatively long at 2:51, 2:52 and 3:12 respectively, the three films in the trilogy are also available in extended versions of 3:48, 3:55 and 4:23 on DVD and Blu-ray. According to the director, if there is sufficient interest in these additional scenes, they could be edited in to create a third, extra-long version of the trilogy.
