Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Malaysia has provided 270 quarantine centres to house persons under surveillance (PUS) for COVID-19.

However, out of the total, he said only 178 quarantine centres were being used to house 13,230 PUS while 92 others were on standby.

“Yesterday, 1,131 Malaysians returned home from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Egypt, Laos, Japan and The Netherlands and were sent for compulsory quarantine.

“In total, 44,253 Malaysians have returned home since April 3 and underwent compulsory quarantine.

"To date, 34,982 individuals have completed the compulsory quarantine and are allowed to return home," he said at a daily media conference here on Friday.
