The Kalabakan Umno division will notify in writing 14 Wanita UMNO division committee members, who quit their posts over unhappiness with divisional polls on Oct 15, to face the party's disciplinary board.

Its division chief, Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh said the action was necessary for the good of the party.

Speaking to reporters before chairing the division's meeting here today, he said the Wanita division would convene a special meeting and election on Saturday to fill up 14 posts made vacant following the en bloc resignation.

He said the meeting, which would be held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kukusan here starting at 8am, was valid and should not be questioned.

"Wanita division delegates are advised to attend the meeting to avoid any disciplinary action against them," he said, adding that representatives from the state Umno liaison committee and election committee would monitor the meeting.

Fourteen Wanita Umno division committee members resigned en bloc over their dissatisfaction with the election process a few days after the divisional polls.

In the contest, incumbent Wanita division chief Datuk Hamisa Samat failed to defend her post when she lost to incumbent vice-chief Cahaya Sulaiman.
