Twenty men were charged in the Sessions Court here today with becoming members of an organised criminal group known as 'Geng Pak Su'.

All of them nodded after the charge was read out to them by a court interpreter before judge Amernudin Ahmad. However, no plea was recorded.

The accused included Fairus Hafiz Mohd Yusoff, 24, ; M. Murugan, 36, ; Rosli Ariffin, 40, ; Sariman Idris, 42, ; Mohd Norhizam Zamzuri, 29, ; Faizol Sobri Romli, 29, ; Amirul Ashraf Hussain, 20, ; Muhamad Ashraf Aziz, 23, and Faizal Azlyshah Romli, 33.

The others are Aziz Othman, 56, ; Muhamad Asrun Amir Hussain, 23, ; Muhammad Luqman Hakim Zainal, 18, ; Nur Arif Norzaidi, 19, ; Muhamad Amir Daud, 22, ; Norhasrul Izwan Noraini, 33, ; Joni Yakub, 37, ; Zamzuri Aziz, 22, ; Shamsol Long, 45, ; Muhammad Khairul Azhar Ghazali, 21, and Mohd Rozaidi Sabu, 26.

All of them were charged with becoming members of 'Geng Pak Su' between 2015 and this year in the Kubang Pasu district.

They are charged under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code and faced an imprisonment for up to 20 years, if found guilty.

The court set Nov 20 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutors Saiful Edris Zainuddin and Mohd Izhanudin Alias prosecuted, while lawyer G. Ravishankar represented Aziz.

The 19 other accused were unrepresented.
