Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa today announced the appointment of new members of the Public Service Commission (PSC), Education Service Commission (ESC) and the Election Commission (EC).

In a statement, Ali said all appointment had received the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and would be for a three-year term beginning from the date they took their oath of office and loyalty.

According to the statement, former Natural Resources and Environment Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri Zoal Azha Yusof has been appointed as Deputy Chairman of the PSC.

Five individuals have also been appointed as PSC new members, namely former Public Service Department post-service division director Datuk Yeow Chin Keong, former Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Md Yahaya Basimin, former Public-Private Partnership Unit senior deputy director-general Datuk Abdul Ghafar Musa, former Higher Education Ministry deputy secretary-general (Development) Datuk Nasir Mohd Dam, and former Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Health Department director Datuk Dr Narimah Nor Yahaya.

Meanwhile, the ESC Chairman Tan Sri Dr Haili Dolhan has been reappointed to head the commission for another two-year term, with new members comprising former Education Department deputy director-general (Teacher Professionalism Development) Datuk Misrah Ibrahim, former Education Ministry deputy director-general (Operations) Datuk Sufa'at Tumin, former Aminuddin Baki Institute director Serina Sauni, and former Education Ministry Curriculum Development Division director Dr Masnah Ali Muda.

Other newly-appointed members of the ESC are Deputy Rector of Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia Datuk Dr Lee Boon Hua, former director-general of Polytechnic Education Department Datuk Mohlis Jaafar, former Finance Ministry Corporate Strategy and Communications under secretary Datuk S. Kumaran, and former Health Ministry Policy and International Relations under secretary Choy Lup Bong.

Former senior under secretary for management at the Communications and Multimedia Ministry Datuk Bala Singam, on the other hand, was appointed as the new EC member. -- BERNAMA
