Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman will be making a working visit to Azerbaijan today to attend the Donor Conference on Financing the Strategic Plan for the Development of vital sector in the City of Al Quds.

Anifah will also attend the Conference of Establishments of an Islamic Financial Safety Net to support the State of Palestine, both conferences scheduled to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, according to a statement from Wisma Putra, today.

The conferences are jointly hosted by the government of Azerbaijan and the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) pursuant to the decision by the leaders of the Muslim nations during the OIC Summit in Cairo, Egypt, early this year.

"All OIC member states are expected to attend the conferences to showm support and commitment to assist the Palestinian government and the Strategic Development Plan for the holy city of Al Quds.

"During his visit, the minister is also expected to call on President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and meet his counterpart H.E Elmar Mammadyarov to discuss issues of mutual interest," said the statement.
