KUALA LUMPUR: Property developers in ASEAN have been urged to embrace innovation and explore new partnerships.

Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin said this would enable the region to emerge stronger, post-pandemic.

"Development projects are not to be just award-winning focused, but to also contribute towards sustainability and the people’s well-being," she said at the ASEAN Property Developer Awards 2020 ceremony, hosted by Des Prix Infinitus Media.

She also commended the award specialist organiser on its initiative to gather ASEAN property developers, in a bid to connect Malaysian players with their regional counterparts.

"As minister, it is an honour to be the official representative to offer our support towards the development of the property sector in Malaysia and within the ASEAN region, especially during these trying times," Zuraida added.

Among winners of the ASEAN Property Developer Awards 2020 were Mah Sing Group Bhd, Tan Tan Developments Bhd and Uda Holdings Bhd, under the Best Developer category.
