The 10-year-old boy who was found chained to a gas cylinder recently, had his desire to meet his biological father fulfilled today.

Pahang State Women and Family Development, Communications and Multimedia Committee chairman Datuk Shahaniza Shamsuddin said, the 36-year-old man, who lives in Melaka, arrived here late this evening to meet his son, and respecting their privacy their reunion was held behind closed doors.

"The boy's father then expressed his willingness to take care of his son after this. The boy also cried wanting to follow his father back to Melaka.

"However, I explained that the matter will be decided by the court after the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) has completed its report," she said via Whatsapp here, today.

Shahaniza said the boy would be placed under JKM's care until the issue was resolved.

While visiting the victim at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) here yesterday, Shahaniza said he had informed her of his wish to meet his biological father who worked at a car wash in Pantai Klebang, Melaka, who he had not seen for a long time.

The victim, who is the third child of five siblings, was found chained by the neck to a gas cylinder using a padlock after police broke into the house at Indera Mahkota 1 here on Friday.

The victim was said to be treated so by his stepfather who was a soldier, for coming home late.

His 32-year-old stepfather and his 37-year-old mother were now remanded for six days to facilitate investigations.
