A couple was killed while their 12-year-old son and three other motorists injured in a four-vehicle collision at the 24.5km Jalan Sungai Rengit-Kota Tinggi near Felda Adela near here yesterday.

Abdullah Asri @ Amat, 60, and wife, Mariyatul Batang, 51, died on the spot in the 9.38am crash. They sustained head and body injuries.

Their son and the other motorists have been warded at the Kota Tinggi Hospital with head and body injuries.

Kota Tinggi police chief, Supt Rahmat Othman said the crash was believed to have occurred when a Nissan Grand Livina driven by a man coming from Sungai Rengit, entered the opposite lane and collided with three vehicles.

He said one of the vehicles was driven by Abdullah.

"Initial investigations revealed the accident was caused by the driver of the Grand Livina," he said in a statement here.
