The government has yet to make any decision for the film industry to carry out filming activities because it is concerned that social distancing is difficult to keep.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, there were a number of things to consider before the activity was allowed to resume.

“In terms of acting during the filming, social distancing may not be possible and filming is not just about the cast, the involvement of the crew is huge, so we have not made any decisions yet.

"We understand that those involved in the industry are affected by the lack of income but the government needs to conduct a comprehensive review including discussions with MOH," he told a daily press conference here on Friday.

Recently, there have been applications from industry players including the Film Directors Association of Malaysia (FDAM) to allow them to resume filming as many people lost their income due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
