Myvi car drivers, Mohammad Fizal Reza and Siti Noor Aini Mohd Said pleaded not guilty today at the Jalan Duta Magistrate's Court on a charge of reckless driving and causing the death of three family members, last Saturday.

Mohammad Fizal, 31 and Siti Noor Aini, 35 were charged under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and are liable to face a minimum jail term of two years and maximum 10 years and fine of up to RM20,000 upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutors Suhaimi Ibrahim and Nadia Malek Fauzie applied for RM15,000 bail with one surety.

They also requested for the court to consider the use of the Section 41 (5) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for Mohammad Fizal and Siti Noor Aini to surrender their passports to the court.

Judge Noorul Fhaeiz Mohd Nayan allowed RM9,000 for each with one surety and fixed June 22 for mention.

Their driver's licences have been been suspended and they were ordered to surrender their passports to the court.

Siti Noor Aini was represented by counsels S.Ravenesan and S.Preakas and Mohammad Fizal was represented by Hashim Ibrahim.

Last Saturday, Fairuz Nizam Husain, 35, his wife Nova Safitri Azhari, 25, and their seven-month-old baby girl Nur Firuza Annisa, were killed in the 1.05am crash involving three vehicles at KM6.2 of the DUKE Highway.

Following that, police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman to facilitate in the investigation.
