The Transport Ministry and the relevant authorities are conducting a feasibility study for the proposed Kulim International Airport which will be completed in the next few months, said Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Wira Othman Aziz today.

Othman said the proposed airport would help accommodate the growing tourist arrivals in the northern region, which were currently being catered to by the Penang International Airport and Langkawi International Airport.

"We need a new airport in the northern region, and we are considering the proposal to have it in Kulim, but the decision will be made once the studies have been completed," he said after the launch of Property Market Report 2016 here today.

Also present was Director-General of Valuation and Property Services Dr Rahah Ismail.

Meanwhile, on Forest City development in Johor Bahru, Othman said, the developer would not be offered any more incentives to complete the project.

"We can''t keep giving them incentives up to the point when we can no longer afford it. We can''t create policies which would cause a loss to the country," he said.
