A headless body believed to be that of a woman was found in an undergrowth at Kampung Parit Haji Hashim, Simpang Renggam, near here yesterday.

District police chief ACP Mohamad Laham said the almost nude and partly decomposed remains were discovered by members of the public around 10.25 am.

"A green piece of cloth was also found near the body, while red nail polish was still visible on the toes," he told reporters at the Kluang district police headquarters here today.

He said the victim's right hand was already decomposed while the left which had been folded to the back, was still normal.

Police believed the victim was murdered elsewhere about two weeks ago.

Mohamad said a police canine unit (K9) which was dispatched to the site failed to locate the victim's head.

He said the headless torso was sent to Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for post mortem while police would try to ascertain the victim's identity through her left fingerprints.
