Kedah recorded eight cases of typhoid this year since January, but the situation remains under control, state director of health Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail said Wednesday.

He said four of the cases were reported in January in Baling, one case each in Kota Setar and Kulim in April and one case each in Kuala Muda and Kulim in July and August, respectively.

The last case in the state was reported on Aug 2, he said in a statement.
