Activist Hishamuddin Md Rais has been arrested at Dataran Merdeka while Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president, Tian Chua has been called in over the sit-in rally at Dataran Merdeka.

PKR Communications Director, Fahmi Fadzil said both of them are currently detained at the Dang Wangi District police headquarters for investigations.

“They would probably be held overnight at the police station,” said Fahmi when contacted by Astro AWANI here on Friday.

On Thursday, police had arrested six individuals over the sit-in #KitaLawan demonstration scheduled to be held at Dataran Merdeka. The individuals include Teja Assemblyman, Chang Lih Kang and Simpang Pulai Assemblyman, Tan Kar Hing have been remanded for four days starting today.

According to a PKR statement, the six individuals were arrested under Section 186 and Section 153 of the Penal Code for obstructing public servants from performing their duties and for using violence.
