PKR vice-president, Tian Chua is freed from police detention at the Jinjang Police Station without bail, here, Saturday.

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil in a statement said Tian Chua's release came after the Magistrate's Court rejected the application by the police to extend the remand period of the Batu MP.

Tian Chua was detained yesterday at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters at approximately 11.50am while giving his statements over the March 7 #KitaLawan demonstration at Sogo Shopping Complex

When met at the police station on Friday, Tian Chua said that the police actions implied that they are performing ‘punitive action’ because if he were to be apprehended at night, they would have to remand him overnight and investigations to be carried out the next day.

Tian Chua was the 11th individual to be detained to assist in investigations concerning the rally.

Pakatan Rakyat princess and Lembah Pantai MP, Nurul Izzah Anwar was also detained under the Sedition Act (1948) on Monday.
