The Kuala Lumpur Karak (KLK) Highway remained closed to traffic for cleaning work, following the mudslide on Wednesday evening.

Several bulldozers of expressway concessionaire, Anih Berhad began cleaning since 9.30am today.

Vehicles which are currently on the East-Coast Highway can make a U-turn to return to their original location.

Astro AWANI was informed that cleaning work would take two days to complete.

Following the information users are advised to use alternative routes as informed by the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM).

Meanwhile, according to a report by Bernama, cleaning work in the mudslide area at Km 52.4 Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway was completed at 3.20 am this morning.

The expressway concessionaire, Anih Berhad in a statement however said the routes will remain closed until further notice.

It added that only vehicles stranded between Selesa Hillhomes and Bentong Plaza are permitted through the expressway.

A landslide occurred at KM52.4 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway near Bukit Tinggi on Wednesday evening.

According to the Malaysian Highway Authority's official Twitter (@LLMinfotrafik), both north- and south-bound roads have been closed and traffic was at a stand at the time the incident occurred.
