Malaysia's opposition to Israel's plan to annex the West Bank and the Jordan Valley clearly proves that it rejects any form of normalisation of the Zionist regime's occupation of Palestinian lands.

Palestinian HAMAS leader, Khaled Meshaal said Malaysia had always been firm on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict issue at the international stage as well as in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) discussions.

He said Malaysia's role in uniting the heads of state on the Palestinian issue had been a bold and respected stand.

"It is clear (Malaysia's stance on the Palestinian issue) is to reject any form of normalisation with the colonial Israeli Zionist regime," he said in a special interview on "Zionist Plan to Annex the West Bank: How We Should Respond?" which was broadcast live on Aqsa Syarif Facebook Saturday night.

The special interview with Khaled who is in Doha, Qatar started at 8.30 pm. It was specially presented by Aqsa Syarif, a non-governmental organisation, Palestine Centre of Excellence (PACE) and Southeast Asia Coalition for Palestine (SACP).

The one-hour interview using Zoom app with Malay and English translations, discussed on the Israeli regime's plan to forcibly seize 30 per cent of the territory in the West Bank and Jordan Valley, expected to be implemented this month.

At the 36th ASEAN Summit held online on June 26, Malaysia urged the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to reject the Israeli annexation plan of parts of the Occupied Palestinian Territory in the West Bank.

The Malaysian Parliament special chamber session on July 16, unanimously agreed to a special motion urging the government to work with the OIC to demand for Israel’s expulsion from the United Nations (UN).

Earlier, Khaled stressed that it was important for all parties to continue to send clear signals of protest on the annexation plan by boycotting Israel economically and politically.

"The boycott will keep the normalisation (Israel over Palestine) further away," Khaled said, adding that the US-backed Israeli plan to seize Palestinian territory is now being opposed by the world community, including in Europe.
