A total of 1,527 sanitation operations have been carried out by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) in 89 zones including 26 red zones since March 30 following the outbreak of the COVID-19.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said it included 1,062 government buildings, 638 public places, 675 business centres and 124 supermarkets.

"Yesterday (April 12), a total of 114 sanitation operations covered 43 zones in 12 states, including 33 in Johor and 19 in Pahang, of which 75 government buildings, 36 public places, 76 business centres and 9 supermarkets were disinfected.

"Also yesterday, 9 areas of red-zone low-cost and medium-scale strata schemes in Selangor were sanitized, making the total of 26 red-zone co-operative areas in Selangor all disinfected," he said.

At the same time, he said all the People's Housing Projects (PPRs) in the red and yellow zones throughout the country had been sanitized, totaling 37,686 units of homes.
