The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in Penang detained two crew members of a fishing boat who tested positive for drugs in the waters off Pulau Tikus.

District maritime director, Rozali Mohd Said said the suspects, aged 24 and 27, were picked up during a routine patrol about 6.40am by an MMEA team.

He said the duo were handed over to the National Anti-Drug Agency in Penang for further action after they tested positive for morphine and methamphetamine.

Meanwhile in SABAH, the police detained 35 illegal immigrants aged between 16 and 55, in an integrated raid at the Kampung Pinji squatters area in Lahad Datu early today.
