The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today received the Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara (D.M.N.) award conferred by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak presented the award to the sultan at a ceremony at the Istana Hinggap Perak here.

The Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, was present at the ceremony.

Also present were Najib's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

Sultan Nazrin Shah was proclaimed the Sultan of Perak on May 29 following the demise of his father, Sultan Azlan Shah, a day earlier.

He is to be enthroned as the 35th Sultan of Perak on May 6 next year at the Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar, Perak.
