The Perikatan Nasional (PN) government is committed to pursuing the national unity agenda to ensure the development and progress of the Land of the Hornbills.

Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Sarawak is one of the states that has always been given priority by the PN government in any development program, especially to bridge the economic gap between the provinces in the state.

He said the matter was in line with the goal of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (WKB 2030) to make Malaysia a sustainable developing country in line with a fair, equitable and inclusive economic distribution at all levels of income groups, ethnicities and regions.

"National unity is an important element in creating a safe and stable country.

"Efforts to unite the people through strengthening racial integration in the country have been started a long time ago," he said through a post on his Facebook account here on Wednesday.

Earlier, he was present to celebrate the Sarawak Day Celebration with the Members of Parliament of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) which was held at a luncheon in Parliament.

Meanwhile, Muhyiddin also took the opportunity to wish Selamat Hari Sarawak specifically to the people in the state.

"Today is a historic day for Sarawak. On this date, all the people celebrate Sarawak Day to remember the services and sacrifices of leaders and Sarawak's fighters for independence.

"In conjunction with Sarawak Day, I would like to wish Selamat Hari Sarawak to all residents of Sarawak," he said.
