The remains of Lee Tze Siang, 33, and Lee Jing Juan, 4, who were killed in a bomb blast in Bangkok were cremated at the Berapit crematorium in Bukit Mertajam on Friday.

The remains was brought from their home located at Taman Cengal in Butterworth and arrived at the crematorium at 12.20pm.

They were cremated after prayers by family members including Tze Siang’s eldest son, six-year-old Lee Jian
Hien who remained calm throughout the ceremony. The ashes were later kept at the crematorium.

Tze Siang’s wife, 33-year-old Neoh Yee Ling who is six months’ pregnant was however distraught throughout the ceremony at their home in Taman Cengal.

Yee Ling who sustained injuries in her ear was not present at the Berapit crematorium.

Both victims – Tze Siang and Yee Ling were among the seven Malaysian family members holidaying in Bangkok on Saturday when the incident occurred.

Apart from Tze Siang and Jing Xuan, also perished in the incident was Yee Ling’s mother, Lee Siew Gaik, 49; her son Neoh jai Jun, 20; and her aunt Lim Su See, 52.

The remains of Siew Gaik and Jai Jun was taken to their residence in Taman Dedap while Su See was taken to her mother’s house located at the same area. Both remains will be buried at the Sungai Lembu Chinese cemetery on Sunday.

In the bomb blast at 7pm (8pm Malaysian time), the four Malaysians were killed and three others injured at the Ratchaprasong junction near the Erawan Shrine and shopping centres in Bangkok.
