Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah paid a courtesy call on Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam at the latter's office in Seri Negeri, Ayer Keroh here today.

He was accompanied by Communications and Multimedia Ministry secretary-general Datuk Suriani Ahmad.

During the meeting that lasted more than an hour from 10 am, Saifuddin, who is also the MP for Indera Makhota in Pahang, also presented a piece of the famous Pahang woven cloth to the governor.

This is Saifuddin's maiden working visit to Melaka since being appointed to the portfolio after Perikatan Nasional formed the government in March following Pakatan Harapan losing its majority in Parliament.

Earlier, the minister had also paid a courtesy call on Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali at the latter'’s office, also at the Seri Negeri complex.

Mohd Ali was appointed as Melaka YDP on June 5 this year, succeeding Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob, while Sulaiman was appointed CM of Melaka earlier, on March 9, after the PH government in the state also lost its majority in the State Legislative Assembly.
