Three of the seven tahfiz (Quran memorisation) students who were killed in an accident at KM55 of Jalan Kuala-Krai Kota Bharu Friday morning were buried in a single grave at the Al-Hashimi Tahfiz Centre, Kampung Tualang here at 11.25pm Friday.

Earlier, the funeral prayers for the victims - Mohamad Hafiz Aimullah Mustafa, 18; Nik Shah Jehan Nik Azmi, 16; and Muhammad Hakimi Muhammad Dahalan, 17, - were performed at the Tahfiz centre mosque after their remains were released separately at the Forensic Department of the Kuala Krai Hospital beginning 9.30pm.

The remains of Nik Ahmed Daniel Nik Ahmed Rithaudeen, 14, who was reported would be laid to rest with his three friends, was claimed by his parents who arrived from Shah Alam, Selangor about 6.30pm.

His remains will be laid to rest at his hometown in Panji, Kota Bharu.

Meanwhile, the remains of Muhammad Rahman Rozali, 18, will be taken to his hometown in Kampung Tok Dor Soh, Bachok, while the remains of Ahmad Farhan Zulkifli, 14, and Thai student Sarifuddin Muhammad, 14, will be taken to Dabong here and Pattani, Southern Thailand respectively.

A sombre atmosphere filled the grounds of the tahfiz centre as soon as the remains of the three students arrived and during the funeral.
