Traffic along the East Coast Expressway (ECE) from Temerloh to Kuala Lumpur was brought to a standstill at KM85 due to fallen trees caused by thunderstorms Sunday.

The 3pm incident also saw five vehicles being damaged after being struck by the 30 fallen trees.

ECE concession operator Anih Berhad director Nik Fauzi Nik Hussein confirmed no deaths were reported in the incident that lasted for about 10 minutes.

"Immediate action has been taken to clean up the route, which can be used by 4.15pm.

"We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure such an incident will not recur," he said when contacted here.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Service deputy director Morni Mamat said the department received a report on the incident at about 4pm and a fire engine with seven personnel were despatched to the scene.
