Two Pahang footballers were caught on suspicion of having committed 'khalwat' (close proximity) with a woman each in separate rooms at a hotel here yesterday, according to a source.

All four of them were caught by enforcement officers of the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip) at about 4.30 am, the source said.

The officers were tipped off by a member of the public who suspected that the unmarried footballers had checked in to the hotel with two women in their 20s.

The source said the footballers and the women were taken to the Jaip office for further investigation.
