Police confirmed that they have detained a female suspect to assist in the investigation on a fatal accident involving the Baling Narcotics Crime Head and his wife early this morning.

Baling OCPD, Supt Sharifudin Yusof said the 37-year-old local woman, who was driving a Honda Civic car, was detained this morning at the location of the incident.

"So far, police are still investigating and detained the suspect who crashed the victims from behind," he told reporters, here today.

In the incident at 7.15 this morning, ACP Mohd Noor Mat Ayub, 38, and his wife Suriya Abdul Rahman, 37, died in the accident at Kampung Teluk Teduri, near here after the Toyota Passo they were travelling in was knocked from the rear as they were turning to the right junction.

The crash resulted in the victims'' car being pushed into the opposite lane and knocked into a vehicle driven by Muhamaad Ilyas Abd Razak, 32, resulting in four children of the victims being injured.

The four children were now being treated at the Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim Sungai Petani and identified as Irdina Aliah, 11, Insyirah Aliah, 10, Muhammad Adib Mustakim, 8, and Imanina Aliah, 6.
