Household items belonging to former Gopeng Wanita UMNO chief, Datuk Hamidah Osman, at Kampung Tersusun, Jalan Gopeng here, were sealed after she failed to settle the RM200,000 compensation in a 2011
defamation suit.

According to Shah Alam Member of Parliament, Khalid Samad's counsel Nadzratun Naim Hammad Azizi, the order was issued when Hamidah failed to pay damages to Khalid after he won a defamation suit against the former Sungai Rapat assemblywoman.

"The household items were sealed based on a seizure and sales order issued by the Shah Alam High Court to the Ipoh High Court bailiff," he told Bernama last night.

Hamidah when contacted by Bernama confirmed the matter.

Khalid was also represented by Sharifah Nur Asmaa' Syed Azman.

On April 27, the Shah Alam High Court ordered Hamidah to pay RM200,000 in damages to Khalid when she lost a defamation suit over her blog post sometime in Jan 2010, titled "Umat Islam Perlu Bersatu" in which she super-imposed Khalid's picture and portrayed him as a Christian priest.
