Pahang PAS will contest in at least four state constituencies held by DAP in the coming 14th General Election (GE14), as it believes the former partner would not be able to defend them.

Pahang PAS commissioner Rosli Abdul Jabar said this was because the party felt that DAP's victory in the constituencies were based on the backing of PAS voters during the last general election.

"After the split in the opposition pact, we are confident that DAP will only be able to defend at most three seats (out of seven) in GE14.

"The rest we expect them to lose because in those areas they won with a small majority of under 100 votes, and an average of 1,000 and 2,000 votes we believe came from PAS voters," he said during a press conference here, today.

Rosli said the four seats were among at least 35 Pahang state seats that PAS was eyeing in the GE14.

He said Pahang PAS was confident of winning 21 of the seats.

In GE13, DAP won seven out of 42 Pahang state seats, namely Tanah Rata, Tras, Mentakab, Bilut, Ketari, Sabai, and Triang, while PAS won three, namely Tanjung Lumpur, Beserah and Kuala Semantan.
