The Perikatan Nasional (PN) government is ready to face the general election (GE) if it is held suddenly.

Pas President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said his party has no problem to face it at any time.

According to the Marang Member of Parliament, the mandate should be given directly to the people in an effort to strengthen the PN government.

"We are ready (to face the GE) at any timeā€¦ (We) need to get a mandate directly from the people, now (the government today) got its mandate from the people's representatives.

"The people's elected MPs have agreed (we need) to get a simple majority to form the PN government. For the government to be stronger, it needs a direct mandate from the people," he told reporters after delivering an online lecture at the Rusila Mosque here on Friday.

Previously, Pas gave the impression that there would not be three-cornered contests in GE-15, instead only a straight fight against the opposition.

Apart from that, Abdul Hadi revealed that the party leaders in PN also agreed to field Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the prime ministerial candidate in GE-15.

He said the agreement was also seen through the performance of the Prime Minister based on surveys and responses from the people.
