The Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) will retain not less than 80 per cent of its current members of parliament (MPs) for the 14th General Election (GE14) , says state BN secretary, Datuk Stephen Rundi Utom.

Asked if any of the incumbents had expressed intention not to seek re-nomination, he said there were none but added Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) would usually field some new faces.

He said Sarawak BN was ready for the general election.

"Our war room is ready," the PBB secretary-general told reporters after attending the breaking of fast with the Sarawak chief minister here Wednesday night.

To another question, Rundi said Sarawak BN candidates were picked based on several criteria including their report card, feedback from the ground and popularity.

The Sarawak BN currently holds 25 of the 31 parliamentary seats in the state.

Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg recently said the state BN was optimistic of winning more than 25 parliamentary seats in the GE14.
