The youngest child of former Sarawak Chief Minister Sarawak Tan Sri Adenan Satem has called for the Iban community in the district here to vote for his mother on the polling day this Saturday.

Azizul Annuar Adenan said his mother, Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu, expressed her thanks to the community for their undivided support towards his father all the while.

"My mother is hoping for the same support from all of you. She said she knew what the people in Tanjong Datu wanted and that she has promised to continue the struggles and plans of my late father for Tanjong Datu should she be elected on the polling day," he said.

Azizul Annuar told this in his speech at the Meet the People ceremony in Sungai Limo here today.

Also present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and State Public Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.

The Tanjong Datu state seat by-election sees a three-cornered fight between the Barisan Nasional (BN), State Reform Party (Star) and Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) Baru.

The candidates are Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu (BN), Rapelson Richard Hamit (PBDS Baru) and Johnny Aput (Star).- BERNAMA
