Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad refuses to fulfill Pakatan Harapan’s General Election Manifesto, says DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

In a statement, Lim said he was told about this during a private meeting with Dr Mahathir on 25 February (Tuesday), at the Prime Minister Office.

“During that meeting, he had refused to remain as Pakatan Harapan Prime Minister and will not fulfill PH’s manifesto.

“Over the past 21 months, the PH government has been working hard to fulfill the manifesto promises gradually. These include the reduction of tolls for the North South Highways by 18 per cent on private vehicles with a guarantee that there will be no toll hike until the concession period. And the MySalam project which offers financial assistance of between RM4,000 to RM8,000 for those with a miscarriage. one of 45 critical illnesses.

“In fact, the PH government abolished the GST replaced by SST and repaid the GST collection amounting to RM19.4 billion. We maintained the country's international credit position despite the government having to pay tens of billions of ringgit due to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd, Tabung Haji and other related scandals.

In addition, the PH government also resumed major infrastructure projects after securing more than RM50 billion through the re-negotiation and rationalisation of previous government projects. We also accelerated the digitization process through promoting e-wallet use, creating 350,000 job opportunities for the unemployed through a RM6.5 billion MalaysiaTech project and many other initiatives.

Lim also reminded that the PH coalition that won the people’s mandate in the 2018 General Election may have different ideologies but have come to a point of common ground and bounded by the GE Manifesto.
