Former Pahang football coach Fuzzeimi Ibrahim died following a heart attack at the Darul Makmur Medical Centre (DMMC) here at 4.30 am today.

Fuzzeimi, 60, who was the Pahang Football Association (PBNP) Coaching and Technical director was said to have complained of chest pains at his house here at 4 am.

According to a family member, Fuzzemi was confirmed to have died while being treated at the emergency unit of the medical centre and he was laid to rest at the Kempadang Muslim Cemetery here at 11 am.

He left behind a wife, a daughter and a grandchild.

Fuzzeimi, who was a former PBNP secretary-general, had also donned the Tok Gajah jersey in the 1980s before being appointed as a coach from 1999 to 2000.

His best achievement was helping Pahang to emerge as the Division One League champions in 1999.

Meanwhile, Kuantan District Football Association (Kuantan FA) secretary Ahmad Muda regarded Fuzzeimi as among the best players and coaches during his era.

He said Fuzzeimi was not stingy in sharing his knowledge with him and turning him into a notable coach and district football secretary.

"The knowledge he shared with me helped me to guide young players for the President Cup squad in 2010.

"His death is deeply felt, especially among former team mates," he added.
