The appointments of Sabah football legends Hassan Sani and James Wong as assistant managers will be a boon for the state team, said FA of Sabah (Safa) president Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

Musa, who is also Sabah Chief Minister, said he believed that with the duo assisting team manager Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, there would be a revival of Sabah's glory in football.

"As such, we hope the Sabah players will emulate the commitment and dedication they have shown to bring back football glory for Sabah," he said at the ceremony to introduce the team's jerseys for the M-League this season, here Saturday.

Meanwhile, Nizam said as the new team manager, he would do his best to see to it that Musa's hopes were realised.

Sabah, now coached by former Perak coach Vjeran Simunic, 62, start their campaign in the Premier League on Feb 12.

The team is beefed up with three import players namely Igor Cerina (Croatia), Marco Tulio Lopes Silva (Brazil) and Dedi Kusnandar (Indonesia).
