The founder of Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd, sponsor of the Kelantan football team, has proposed to build a six-star hotel next to the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium so as to allow some guests the luxury of watching matches at the arena from the comfort of their rooms.

Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman said she had put forward the proposal to build the RM280-million hotel to Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob during a meeting with him Wednesday.

Hasmiza, who is better known as Dr Vida, said Ahmad had agreed to study the proposal and get back to her soon.

"When the agreement is reached, we will launch the project immediately," she told reporters after her meeting with Ahmad at the Menteri Besar's Office at Kompleks Kota Darul Naim here.

Media reports today said the 19-storey hotel would be erected on a 0.7-hectare piece of land close to the electronic scoreboard of the stadium.

The hotel, which will adopt the contemporary Islamic concept, would also have a sports complex with facilities for bowling, tennis and golf, as well as a mosque and cafe, Hasmiza said.

She said the hotel, to be named Hotel Pamoga Qu Puteh The Red Warriors, would provide employment for more than 300 people from the state.
