Yeoh's remains will be placed at their home in Ipoh Garden. Michelle apparently had arrived in Ipoh three days ago to spend time with her father.
Datuk Yeoh Kian Teik, the father of international actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, died on Wednesday of old age. He was 89.
Yeoh, who was a former Perak MCA chairman, died at 6.16pm at his home here.
Perak MCA chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon when contacted by Bernama confirmed the matter and said the demise of elder Yeoh was a big loss to MCA and the Chinese community.
"He was a much respected leader who held firmly to his principles and was loyal to the party until his death. He had contributed enormously to the party and was vocal with his views," he said.
Mah last met the late leader on Oct 23 during his birthday celebration at his residence in Lebuh Lasam here.
