The 43-year-old Sirul has been sentenced to death in Malaysia over the murder of 28-year-old model and interpreter Altantuya.
Ex-police commando, Sirul Azhar Umar has been detained in Queensland after being sentenced to death for the murder of model and interpreter, Altantuya Shaariibuu, Australian media reported.
The report stated that Sirul had been taken into custody by immigrant officials in Brisbane overnight after he was included in the list of individuals wanted by the International Police Interpol (Interpol).
The 43-year-old Sirul has been sentenced to death in Malaysia over the murder of 28-year-old model and interpreter Altantuya.
On January 15, Bernama reported that Sirul's lawyer Kamarul Hisham Kamaruddin said that Malaysia hopes Australia to cooperate by extraditing the corporal.
