The Bersih 4 rally at Song Kheng Hai field was halted last night due to the lack of a sound system, said the rally's Kuching chairman Nicholas Mujah.
He said the rented sound system had been taken by its owner without prior notice and this caused problems to continue with the program at night.
"We have rented the system that is usually used for karaoke purposes but its reach could not cover the whole field," said Nicholas.

Commenting further about today's program, Nicholas said the participants were here to clean up the area and tidy up the necessary equipment that were used throughout the rally.
A quick check by Astro AWANI of the site last night saw the use of a relatively weaker sound system which was not strong enough to reach the entire crowd.
This morning, some 100 participants returned to clear up the area as well as remove several posters put up for the rally.
