Bidayuh Muslims join in Aidiladha sacrificial ritual

This is the second consecutive year for Willie to make the contribution which he hopes will help the Muslim community here perform their sacrificial rite.

The Bidayuh ethnic Muslims in Kampung Darul Islam here joined in the sacrificial ritual in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidil Adha celebration yesterday.

Sarawak Deputy Minister II of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Willie Mongin who is also Puncak Borneo Member of Parliament was among contributors who handed over a cow to the chairman of the village mosque management chairman Hussein Banyak.

This is the second consecutive year for Willie to make the contribution which he hopes will help the Muslim community here perform their sacrificial rite.

Representative of the villagers, Musa Mohd Syaid said the slaughter and distribution of sacrificial meat was done according to the standard operating procedure (SOPs) issued by the Sarawak Islamic Council as a precautionary measure to prevent COVID-19 infection.

Apart from that, the village mosque also received several cows from the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) as well as contributions from several individuals.
