The body of a 10-year-old Orang Asli girl identified as Sheetel Kulop and reported missing after falling into Bidor River yesterday was found at 7.20am today.
According to Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Department chief Zulkafli Abdullah, Sheetel's body was found about 200m from the location where she was reported to have fallen.
"The body was found by the search and rescue team. The body was handed over to the Police and taken to the Teluk Intan Hospital for post-mortem," he said when contacted by Bernama today.
Yesterday, a religious gathering ceremony held by about 30 members of Orang Asli families from Sungai Bidor, Batu 6, near the Gloster Oil Palm Plantation turned into a tragedy when two boys and a girl who had gone to the river to bath, slipped and fell into the river.
Two bodies were found yesterday, namely Sherrel Kulop, 11, the elder sister of Sheetel and their cousin Norzehan Long Asing, 13, were found by the search and rescue team, not far from the location of the tragedy. - BERNAMA
