A total of 98 haj pilgrims from Cambodia are stranded at KL International Airport (KLIA) after a mistake occurred when booking flight tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah.
Head of the delegation, Ariffin Ismail said the pilgrims were supposed to board a Saudia Airlines flight to Jeddah yesterday.
"The pilgrims could not travel because they were mistakenly booked on a normal and not a haj flight," he told reporters here, Saturday.
Ariffin said the tickets were booked by agents in Phnom Penh who are in talks with Malaysia Airlines (MAS) to solve the problem.
"We hope the problem can be resolved by Monday to allow the pilgrims to reach before Wukuf Day on Oct 3," he added.
The pilgrims arrived on Sept 25 on flights MH755 and MH763 and transit at KLIA before continuing to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sept 26.
