COVID-19: Malaysia records 3,211 new cases, 1,710 recoveries, eight deaths

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded a total of 3,211 new positive cases of COVID-19 transmission in the last 24 hours.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 151, 066 cases.
According to the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) statement, only five from today's new cases were imported while the remainder of 3,206 cases were from local transmissions.
Malaysia’s active cases currently stands at 151,066.
Selangor recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 889 cases, followed by Johor with 535 cases and Sabah with 514 cases.
Meanwhile, the country recorded a total of 1,710 recoveries today.
The statement also reported an increase of eight new deaths, bringing the country's death toll to 586.
As of today, there are a total of 204 patients receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 87 of whom require respiratory assistance.
