The deletion of two sentences in no way affects the final report by the Public Account Committee's (PAC) on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), said PAC chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin.
He said the sentences were deleted because of their unclear status or being investigated and not for public consumption.
"This was told to all PAC members during the tabling of the report before all PAC members on April 7. Entering a statement which is unclear or being investigated is something prejudicial and all PAC members should convince the authorities to conduct further investigations before making a statement," he said in a statement here, today.
In this regard, Hasan said the authorities, like the Royal Malaysia Police which had specific expertise to carry out the responsibility, had set up a special team to investigate any misconduct.

Hasan said this in commenting on a statement by DAP Member of Parliament Tony Pua today that two sentences in the final 1MDB report were deleted, one on the discussion between National Audit Department officers and members of the PAC.
The other, Pua said, was on the discussions of the PAC members with government officers involved in preparing the 1MDB report, said Pua.
Pua, who is also a PAC member, claimed that the information in the two sentences had been agreed to by PAC members from Barisan Nasional and opposition to be included in the 1MDB report.
