An 11-year-old girl was killed when the trailer lorry driven by her stepfather skidded and overturned at Km106 near the south-bound exit of the Sungai Petani Selatan toll plaza last night. -Filepix
An 11-year-old girl was killed when the trailer lorry driven by her stepfather skidded and overturned at Km106 near the south-bound exit of the Sungai Petani Selatan toll plaza last night.
Kuala Muda Police chief ACP Md Zukir Md Isa said the trailer, which was carrying a cargo of wood, was heading south from Sungai Petani when the accident happened at about 8pm.
The girl, Siti Nurmalina Mohamad Nazri, died on the spot, Md Zukir told Bernama today.
Her brother, Mohd Haikal Nazri, 10, who was also with her in the lorry, as well as their stepfather were slightly injured.
The stepfather and Mohd Haikal as well as the body of Siti Nurmalina were sent to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital here.
